Brent says they don’t have a family tree: more like a thicket. Mimi brought seven children to their blended family.

At the end of 1993, they sent out this status report, snapped on the occasion of the nuptials of Justin and Becky Jackson.

Mimi, as I said, was Janet’s best friend, growing up in Oakland. When hepatitis finally caught up with Janet, Mimi flew from British Columbia to Indiana to deliver her eulogy. In due course, she became Brent’s second adorable spouse. His car bears, these days (2008) a license plate that says “2XWINR,” Get it?

Can’t resist noting that the management challenge of their blended family entailed, for a time, two Rebeccas of similar age sharing a bedroom. Nor that a more recent descendant assembly portrait, on display at their Orem home, runs to something like sixty grandchildren.
