2012—Replaced Right Shoulder |
…Previous medical event: 2010—“Health Insurance” horrors |
On 16 October 2012, “we” (in the active person of Dr Jonathan Donigan, and the passive person of yours truly) replaced, with metal and plastic, the bony original-equipment joint structure in my right shoulder, relieving arthritic pain that I’d complained about since the 1980s. They call it “arthroplasty.” |
The replacement, this time around, pretty much mimics the overall shape of the original, as had my new hip, six years earlier. The same would be true of the next shoulder, on the left side, in 2016. But in 2018, when this one failed, necessitating my third shoulder arthroplasty, it looked substantially different. |
