Uffington, Lincolnshire, England 19GGF Thomas Ros, 4th Baron Ros of Helmsley, in our Plantagenet line by his marriage, after 1 Jan 1359, to 19GGM Beatrice de Stafford; in 1364, he accompanied the king of Cyprus to the Holy Land; and was in the French wars, from 1369 to 1371. He was summoned to parliament by both King Edward III of England and King Richard II of England. He died at Uffington, Lincolnshire, 8 June 1383, and was buried at Rievaulx Abbey.
Valleyhead Hospital 9GGF James Adams was the first white man to settle within the limits of Carlisle. He was born in Carlisle, Cumberland County, England, and was banished by Oliver Cromwell in 1640 for political offenses. In 1662, he married Priscilla Ramsden of Concord. Between the years 1654 and 1662 he built his house between what is now Valleyhead Hospital and the Brick-End house next door. His old gambrel-roofed house has since been moved across the street
