Mel was president of Pacific High School’s Key Club (apprentice Kiwanis) when I joined in 1955 as a sophomore. He’s immortalized (demoralized?) among cognoscenti of the time and place as “Where’s the Bell?” Mel. Right pic: Same crowd (plus ten-year-old Brent), same spot, another mood. Annie and Del lived with us for various family reasons, late in their respective high school careers. |
