Pacific High School, 1955-58
PHS002PHS.jpg In the middle-to-late 1950s, San Bernardino’s brand-new Pacific High School may well have been California’s greatest. We surely thought so then, and the record lends some retrospective justification to our continuing partisanship. We were the “Pacific Pirates”, with purple and silver as our school colors.1

1...Colors which you can barely discern in The Sign, at left in the upper photo; you can’t see them at all, of course, in the black-and-white images, which I’ve scanned in from my “Pacificana” yearbooks for 1955-58. Hope I’m not thereby violating any copyrights: ’twould seem to fall within at least the spirit of “fair use.”
