1993—Uncle Ken Carter
Kenneth Goodliffe Carter, 91, passed away Monday, February 22, 1993 at his home in Logan of heart failure.

He was born on March 9, 1901 in Park Valley, Utah the son of John Martin and Elizabeth Roxcy Goodliffe Carter. He married Verna May Seely on March 23, 1927 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple after returning from serving in the North States and North Central States Missions.He was educated in Park Valley where he became a rancher and promoter of civic and community affairs.

He held various church positions including bishop of the Park Valley Ward for 13 years. An avid scouter, he was the recipient of the Silver Beaver Award and was an influence in the lives of many young people. He also received the Honorary Master M-Men Award.

In January of 1964, he and his wife moved to Logan where he established a real estate and brokerage business. They served a two year LDS mission in the Northern Indian Mission, where he was a counselor in the mission presidency.

While living in Logan, he held church leadership positions and was an officiator in the Logan Temple for 11 years.

He is survived by his wife of Logan; a son and a daughter and their spouses, Dr. Kenneth G. and Christine Carter, Jr., Colorado Springs, Colorado; Alfa Jean and B. Kent Carter, Centerville, Utah. He has seven grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren, a brother, Francis Merley Carter of Burley, Idaho and a sister, Vera James of Logan. He was preceded in death by brothers, Laurence G., Gordon R., and Floyd G. Carter and a grandson, Curtis Kent Carter.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 26, 1993 in the Logan 29th Ward Chapel, 792 North 500 East, with Bishop Alfred L. Pace III conducting. Friends may call Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Cranney Mortuary, 420 East 1800 North in Logan and at the church Friday morning from 10 a.m. until time of services. Interment will be held at 1:30 p.m. in the Brigham City Cemetery, Brigham City, Utah.
