By Valentine’s Day, we were fully half a year gone from the Hawthorne Ward to Fox Pointe1. But we still (particularly the Ralstons, who spent years in Sugar House) cherished durable friendships there.

Here they are in a Valentine get-together for which, if I recall correctly, our Davis County contingent returned to the venue they had shared.
1Is it just snotty of me to wince, when people try to do French without any real awareness of French? Is there really something geographical that would justify the “e” on the end of the name the developers invented for our new neighborhood and others like it? As far as I know, “pointe” is a position in ballet, having to do with daintily-extended toes. A pointy piece of geography on the other hand, shouldn’t be adorned with a pseudo-Gallic “e”. N’est-ce bleeding pas?
