We stayed with Pappy and Norma in San Bernardino. They had disposed of the Sixteenth Street homestead and purchased this condo at 4704 Olivewood Lane, in the foothills, just west of Sierra Way.
Their next-door neighbors were musical high-school friend Curtiss Allen’s folks, by then retired from the Allen Foundry. Curt and his wife had lived earlier in the old Jernigan house across the street from Pappy and Mammy. P0006219ewOlivewood.jpg
As Grandpa’s kid, Pappy was very proud of his roses.
