Marching Band

Here I am in uniform, with fellow bandsmen Ernie Martinez, Del Riddle, and Paul Chapin. Not sure where: some band outing or other.

Ran into Paul in Cambridge, during my senior year (1964-65) at MIT. We were both enrolled in Morris Halle’s phonology course. It was part of his grad-student program; I was still an undergraduate (three or four years behind Paul, because of my mission), interloping by taking it as an elective.
