William Russell (1667-1717) |
As neighbors in Concord, our ninth great-grandfathers Benjamin Russell and James Adams went to church together (or they’d have been fined) and no doubt called each other “brother” on that account. Custom made them doubly fraternal, once Benjamin’s son our 8GGF
William Russell married James’ daughter Hannah Adams.
William Russell is buried in Plot #1 in the front rank of the Hill Cemetery in Concord Centre. The second Doolittle engraving shows Redcoat officers Smith and Pitcairn standing among those graves on April 19, 1775. |
