Acton Boundaries, 1735 |
When our 7GGF Jonathan Wheeler
(1684-1747) set up his homestead here after 1724, it was still
a neighborhood of Concord. And “Carlisle”
wasn’t a local place name, but only the English home town
of our 9GGF James Adams.
In 1735, it was incorporated as Acton, with these boundaries, and with Thomas Wheeler, a cousin of some as yet undetermined degree, as founding Town Clerk, Selectman, and Assessor. |
