Quadricentennial—Brigham City |
One medallion remained: Grandma Alfaretta Neff Seely’s. Recalling that her grave lies right at the corner of two streets, I figured I could remain upright in spite of the rough ground and decided to install hers myself. So, on Thursday, 27 August, we drove up to Brigham City, joined by Jim and Kent, my two surviving Seely cousins, fellow grandsons of “Artie” and “Alfie”, as well as Kent’s wife Mary. We brought chairs, a jury-rigged work table, and the paraphernalia of epoxy application. Valerie wore the obligatory face-mask in deference to the pandemic. Out in the open, I didn’t feel similarly constrained. |
