Autumn in New England
This looks like September, 1969, up at Lake Winnepesaukee, in New Hampshire. This would become increasingly a favorite family outing destination, as we grew into camping for an affordable vacation.

Yes, Erik was a cute toddler, too. No way this document is going to give him equal time with his big brother, of course. He was never an only child, and nobody gave us free film to capture him. And in those days, you paid two or three times for each picture you took.

Later that year, we went to Ticonderoga. Or maybe to George’s Island, in Boston Harbor. That’s how Valerie remembers it, and she’s habitually right. The cannonball overmatches him.
