2002: Lexington—Buckman Tavern |
Treasure Cities |
As a member of the Lexington Historical Society, I requested and received permission to go upstairs (where the tourists don’t) in the Buckman Tavern on Lexington Green, to the room where John Hancock left his trunk on the 18th of April. Also to photograph the portraits of my cousin Abigail Russell Bridge and her husband Matthew Bridge. The whole story appears (where else?) in the Carlisle Section. Yes, this is Lexington, but that’s where I’ve put most of my material on the Lexington-Concord Alarm. |
