2002: Carlisle |
Treasure Cities |
Invested much of this spring, in library, car, and on Hepzibah, in learning about the town of Carlisle: that its present boundaries include the colonial-era homesteads of five founding households of our family; that events labeled with the names of Concord, Acton, Billerica, and Westford took place on land that now belongs to Carlisle. Put together an illustrated account (the section named “Carlisle”) that still gives me family chills and that has brought me closer to our Revolutionary heroes and other significant pioneers. |
