I was credited as second author on this Phase V article in the super-prestigious New England Journal of Medicine. In case you wonder what that means, I performed all the analysis that we reported here, and Marcia did most of the writing. All the fifty or so participating MDs, whose patients actually responded to our questionnaires, got credit as the Quality of Life Hypertension Study Group. Johanna was responsible for data management, and Norm was the project’s guiding gray eminence.

This is just the abstract, of course. Should your interest extend so far, you can presumably find the whole article in your local university medical library or on line. If I’m still around, I may be able to supply you from my store. Or maybe not: those publishers seem sometimes to be dealing in secrets and possessions, rather than wisdom to be disseminated.
