1979—Georges Island |
Favorite images of some of my principal treasures, disporting themselves on the margins of the historic island in Boston Harbor, in August. |
They showed us around Fort Warren (next page), named after the great Revolutionary patriot Dr Joseph, who died at Bunker Hill. The Army operated it through the Civil War, but I seem to recall that its guns were never fired in anger. They imprisoned the Vice President of the Confederacy here. A fun visit; we came more than once. |
