Another shot from the Christmas fête in Rennes. Elder (Bob) Miller and Elder (Richard “Stick”) Hill are the performers, this time.

11-30 It’s a great day for the Mormons of the city of Rennes. Elders Fyffe and Miller will baptize this evening three young women and one young man; Elders Enos and Hill also have a girl and an old widow to baptize. The young man, Patrick Le Tort, threw his cigarettes on the table last evening and said, “That’s all: I’m through smoking. Anybody want to buy my lighter?”

The Leroys have company this week, but if they don’t get baptized [46] next week, the devil’s power is really something frightful. The young lady [Annick] and her oldest brother, Hubert, are both sitting on the edge of the baptismal font. The mother still has questions, but we’ll answer them and baptize her, for sure.

These ten baptisms will bring the Rennes branch to eighty members of the Church. Since this branch was made an independent branch at last Sunday’s conference, these new members come at a very opportune moment. The spirit of the members has never been better, I’m told, and I can easily believe it. Brother Renaud is now become Brother
