We’ve been told not to be surprised at
this sort of thing; this is the way it’s going to be happening from now on.
10-28 Tracting pretty fair — three for seven today. We’re going back to tract a cop and a Jehovah’s Witness (Témoin de Jéhova) among them. We may meet up with a whole crowd of TJ missionaries at the second place. Which would be fun, but hardly profitable. This is the first really beautiful day I’ve seen here. The sky is mostly blue, the sun has been shining almost uninterruptedly all day, and it’s a real
pleasure to go motoring around. We have to run out to soeur Bauguin’s this afternoon; she’s way out in the sticks, and we’ll enjoy the ride like wow.
[18] So, it’s off to give the word to our committed investigator — we’ll have her in the water Tuesday, with the help of the Lord.
Back now, and she came through wonderfully on the Word of Wisdom and tithing. She was noticeably taken aback by the prohibition of coffee, but she said that she’d obey it. Elder H. started to say “I know it may be a little difficult...” but she interrupted with “Not at all. It's a commandment and I’ll keep it.” And we met her just three days ago! Is the field white or not?
We were rejected by another of soeur Louis’ referrals the other day, but no wonder! Listen to where the poor woman lives: Mme. Aubin, rue de la Monnaie, en face de la Grande |
