Senior House
Just across Ames Street, the Senior House dorm is older than the Parallels and, according to the Centennial Technique (see caption to lower photo), seceded from East Campus in 1959. They called themselves (maybe still do) the “red bow tie gang.”

This is the building’s western façade, facing Ames Street, as it appears these days (Summer 2005). The building is L-shaped, half-surrounding the President’s House.
In my day, Senior House sported the same ivied appearance as the Parallels. This period shot shows, if not very clearly, the (also L-shaped) courtyard between the dorm and the President’s back yard. That courtyard was the venue of a perfectly magical event that I’m going to try to describe later, under its own topic.
