Near the end of Ames Street, with the river and Boston in the background, stands the Sailing Pavilion.

MIT had (doubtess still has) a Physical Education requirement, but it wasn’t much of a burden on us negligibly-athletic types. Inasmuch as we could (and did) fulfill it with such pleasurable enrollments as badminton, candlepin bowling, and sailing on the Charles.
