Christmas 1941 |
This would qualify as a very fine Duane-and-Leola joint portrait, if not for the happy little intruder. |
Starting with this year, Duane initiated a series of photographic Christmas cards, sharing our family pictures with family and friends all over the place. He concentrated on us kids, including himself and Leola only occasionally (see the next few pages).
By the way, all subsequent cards spelled the name out in full, if they cited it at all: “Anderson.” we never heard anybody call Leola “Andy.” Duane was “Andy” mostly among his professional friends. Richard has been known to appeal to this card as justification for his own appropriation of the quasi-Scandinavian patronymic handle. |
