Wheeler Graves in Acton |
Looking into the cemetery from its entrance (far left, two rough-cut columns flanking the only break in the fieldstone wall), we see a a few of the gravestones. We come mainly to visit the two dark stones on the right of the group, toward the middle of the picture.
The handsome gravestones of my sixth great-grandparents, Oliver Wheeler I (1722-1804) and Abigail Woods Wheeler (1726-1786), stand quite by themselves, the last ones that a northbound traveler sees, looking to his left, from the Carlisle Road. |
