The Old North Cemetery in Acton |
Acton’s old North Cemetery sits very quietly in a residential neighborhood at the northernmost corner of the Town. It covers only an acre or so, and when I was there on a drizzly springtime Saturday afternoon, the adjoining streets saw little traffic.
Below: same view, closer up: we’re looking roughly north. The burying ground lies on the west side of the Carlisle Road, bounded on the south by North Street. About three hundred yards further north, in typical New England fashion, Carlisle Road enters Carlisle (nowadays) and becomes Acton Road. |
