Six weeks before this, CNN brought its camera crew to Harlow Street. Then, on July 18, Mary Beth sent us photos of the aftermath of a storm such as we don’t recall seeing during our thirty years in Arlington.
Yes, we were there for the Blizzard of ’78, and that qualified as a winter hurricane. And yes, I was struggling home from Washington while it raged. And maybe my memory’s faulty (heck, there’s no maybe about it), but I seem to recall that the trees tended strongly to remain upright, back then. |
