Also augmented my collection of Cambridge memories with a couple from MIT. Above, you can just pick out, slightly left of center (appropriately enough) the orange-and-bluish Stata Building, a major contribution from the Institute to the twentieth century’s pervasive bizarreness. Here’s a magnification, in case the panorama hasn’t satisfied your curiosity.
The Muses will have to forgive me, but I’m just as glad this act of creativity wasn’t perpetrated while I was there. Nor, for that matter, during the quarter-century I spent interviewing high school kids for the MIT Admissions Office. Not sure what I’d have said, had the subject come up. |
