2001—April: Salt Lake City Cemetery
Buried Treasures
OurStone320 The Salt Lake City Cemetery was sacred to our family, long before April 28, when we went there and learned about it. We have purchased our own grave-plot there and a modest stone to mark it: sorta like voting with your feet.

Some of our kids think we’re dreadfully morbid. We think we’ve done them a favor.

Those buried here already include close and distant relatives and also their friends, neighbors, and yokefellows over a century and a half of pioneering in the tops of the mountains.
Two of the Sections in my “I Blame Hepzibah” document many connections that we hope posterity will see fit to honor.
  • I’ve formatted the Section named “SLC Cemetery” as a walking tour with ten stops at the burial places of family members.

  • The Section named “Isaac Decker” follows up the Tenth Stop with a lot of detail on Great-Great-Great-Grandpa Isaac Decker and on our project to rededicate his grave and to supply it with a suitable monument.
