1985—Soccer |
For several years, soccer was a big deal for our younger children. Particularly Cyndi, who as a junior high athlete was widely feared in Middlesex County. Above, she stands, just a bit right of center, with one arm around Jane Healy and the other around another chum whose name she’ll have to restore to my memory.
Frankly, I was startled at the ferocity of our gentle Be-Bop, as she bore down on the ball and stripped it decisively from her opponent’s possession. In high school, she switched to field hockey, largely because at that level the soccer competitions tended to happen on Sunday. |
