1984—Eeyore’s Tail
2224ew In those days, I worked briefly as a project manager for the Lexington branch of M/A-COM Linkabit, Inc., a designer of fancy military communication equipment. Not a good match, and this job didn’t last long. Its most memorable episode came when I mentioned to Debbie that the main computer at Linkabit was named Eeyore.
She inquired, of course, about the color of Eeyore’s tail. When I replied that he lacked one of any hue whatever, she was galvanized to correct the situation.

Our well-beloved neighbor Kristen Azar was on hand as Debbie came to Lexington to present the new, custom-built tail to Donna Cosgrove, Linkabit’s local computer guru.
