1982—Home Improvement |
Valerie couldn’t sleep, while I was away on business. So, instead, she sawed the legs off one of our antique chests of drawers (from the Dover Country Store), gave a walnut refinish to both, and stacked them. The ensemble still serves us well at Chankly.
Buddy Harper gave us cabinets that he’d removed from somebody’s kitchen; I installed them at the foot of our bed, as storage space and bookshelves. Waterbeds were a big craze; we’d sprung for a second-hand one. I built the mirrored headboard, which still adorns our connubial chamber, although our current inner-spring mattress came from Deseret Industries. |
