On July 3, 1775, a year and a day before our forefathers declared Independence in Philadelphia, the Continental Army received its Commander in Chief in Cambridge. As the clippings say, we and a lot of other Cambridge citizens observed the bicentennial of that event with a big parade up Cambridge Street to the Common. |
