Pierre Desquines |
April 1—[119] This day started in the Hôtel Moderne in Le Mans, where Elder Lynn Bennion and I sacked out last evening, after the initial events of the district conference:
After the fête, we took several local members home, including one young lady who, learning that I was a missionary in Rennes, asked if I knew a young brother named Claude-Gérard Leroy. Assured that I did, she expressed her enthusiasm about this formidable brother’s activity. Seems that our Claude is now president of the MIA in Tours and that he works a lot in Scouting there, even though he’s a member of our branch. When he comes home in June, we’ll see lots of good stuff. April 2—[120] We’re waiting for the bus which will bring us about fifty of our members, friends, and missionaries. In the general meeting, our own Brother Pierre Desquines was sustained as first counselor in the district presidency. Then he spoke on the divinity of Christ, beginning with his identity separate from his Father. Then he showed that Jesus is the Father’s first-born. Then some evidences of His perfection. Brother Ernest de Faye of the Le Mans branch accepted with great humility his call to serve as second counselor in the district presidency. |
