John Ball Inventory, 1655 |
Meanwhile, the estate of John Ball of Concord (our Mary’s paternal grandfather) was inventoried (the document calls him “Bale”) on the 6th of the 8th month in 1655, with a notation that he was buried the first of that month. In old-style reckoning, that would have been October; in new-style, August. I’m never sure which applies to a given document of the period; are you?
The inventory lists nothing very housewifely, suggesting that tenth-great-grandpa John died a widower. Click on the original |
