Dow Lorenzo Dow Young (he went by “Dow” in the family) was by all extant accounts a faithful and close friend of Isaac and Harriet Decker before their divorce in Nauvoo. After which (and after his own separation from his pre-polygamy wife Persis Goodall, Dow married Grandma Harriet, thus becoming our step-great-great-great-grandfather.

At the same time, he was the younger brother of Brigham, our step-only-two-greats. Confusing enough?
