Esmé & Chester |
Esme & Chester (concluded, for now)—When I returned to the States in 1964, Esmé gave me this lovely original “Cumorah.” Not, of course, the big one from the exhibition, but one she’d painted expressly for us, with a dedication on the back that I can’t read with dry eyes, to this day. |

I’ll have more to say and show about Esmé and Chester later on, in the context of my second mission to Paris in 1968-69. I didn’t meet the Kieslings until the folks had come and gone in 1963, but both couples lived to become well acquainted; I’ll save some wonderful photos for that section. |
