Wish I could remember Brother Carlson’s first name. His business had brought him to Paris, and he was a big help to our President. Elder Anstead and I were guests at the Carlsons’ home on one occasion.

No clue where the wives of these brethren were at this moment. Unless, in the immemorial manner of women everywhere, they’d slid their chairs back in unison (or maybe in four parts) and decamped together to the powder room…

Young Brother Carlson appears less than delighted to attend the big banquet and to sit at the table
with the four principal dignitaries: his father, recently called as President Hinckley’s first counselor, replacing Daniel Devillard; President Rulon T Hinckley; President Mark E Petersen, and Brother Joseph Hasoppe.
