Here they are, for example dressed rather more warmly for alpine late-spring weather. Is that the Matterhorn in the background? Something scenic enough for a platform, at any rate.

I can’t ask him now, alas, but Pappy could surely have told us what was significant about this courtyard. Nothing I’ve seen even suggests what country they were in. Not France, I’m guessing, but without much confidence. They did go through Italy on their way to Paris.
