these things is a gift of God and [62] doesn’t come from our own speculation and reasoning. And this gift is given only to a few who are also commanded to keep these things secret, except for the knowledge that is necessary for salvation. May we not therefore properly hesitate to believe in the words of those (Pres. Dyer, Cleon Skousen) whe claim the power to reveal the mysteries to us? I believe that if these people really had received the gift of understanding of the mysteries, they would also have been directed to keep their understanding to themselves, no?
Alma 12:14-15–Looks like a prophecy of the coming of Dylan Thomas. Not to mention others like him. See “Vision and Prayer.”
The purpose of mortality: Alma 12:24.
12-18 Alma 13:3 contains a very clear explanation of foreordination. Verse 7, moreover, leaves us no room to wonder about the Lord’s prescience: it’s real, and it extends to everything.
