The address (kinda pretentious for a modest dwelling on a dirt road) was a real stumbling block to some, back in California, who might otherwise have sent me encouraging letters.
I’m replacing Elder Glen Palmer. He and Elder Higley held a baptismal last night. They’ve really been going.

We live in a rather pleasant apartment: two bedrooms, bath, washroom, kitchen, and hall, with
unlimited hot and cold running water, on the second floor of a nice-looking building overlooking a canal. We batch, and it costs us $15 a month each for rent and $1 a day each for food.
