Graduates’ Day, 1958
Near the end of my senior year, the Seminaries of Southern California threw this big event somewhere in Greater Los Angeles. Not, I hasten to note, at the brand-new Temple in Santa Monica whose image, reasonably enough, adorns the cover of this program handout.

At the banquet, we heard from both Berretts: California’s own Lyman C, who was pretty much in charge of the gathering, and Lyman’s boss, William E of the Department of Religion at Brigham Young University.
