Young family friend Kathy Ellis (lovely daughter of Bruce and Alta) kindly accompanied me to the all-night Bash and Breakfast that Pacific and Berdoo High Schools put on. A respectable band, you’ll agree, although their excellence was pretty much lost on me. Am I mistaken, or was it already June 11, by the time we settled down to partake of the 7:30 a.m. breakfast?
Borrowed the MG (from Del, I think). Sprung personally for the corny cap. Typical of me to import somebody younger, rather than face these social anxieties with any of my peers. I was still scared, but not of Kathy: she was as sweet as she was cute. For her part she was ill-at-ease as well, to the point of suffering some gastric embarrassment. We’ve laughed about it, since. |
