The Bar |
The calendar over my shoulder says February 1957; this was
my 16th birthday, and
Brent’s 12. We bracket The
Bar: I’m
facing the dinette, and Brent’s
facing the kitchen. Some of Mammy’s porcelain treasures adorn the shelves on the east wall. I retain a vague but painful memory of her tears when the mate to the pigeon at upper left got broken. Guessing I probably broke it. Something about the pair having been her father’s last gift. |
…and this one was in November of 1959, when Brent turned 14. I was in Cambridge, of course, and accordingly didn’t figure in the photo. Some evolution in the artifacts on display. |
