Thomas and Joseph Rogers |
9GGF Thomas Rogers died in the first terrible Plymouth winter, along with half of the Mayflower’s passengers. We’re told that the survivors buried their dead furtively by night around the top of Cole’s Hill, lest the Indians realize how badly their losses were weakening them. As many bones as possible were later collected and interred in this sarcophagus, which now occupies the hilltop. |
