We displayed Leola’s Christmas note earlier, in the context of the folks’ holiday card series. Here it is again: the best evocation we’ve preserved of the feelings attending this final family reunion.

As she says, Valerie and Ricky and Richard went from Paris to Geneva to pick up Brent at the end of his French East Mission. Then on the way back home (!) to Paris, we went to Berne, where the delightful Temple President Walter Trauffer kindly put together an ad hoc sealing session for us. The extra proxies he recruited spoke, as we recall, three languages; as the proceedings required him to address each participant, we were impressed that he switched seamlessly from language to language, favoring us, of course, with his flawless French.
