Lucy Ann Decker Seely Young |
Lucy Ann Decker Seely Young, Isaac’s and Harriet’s firstborn daughter, a Plantagenet descendant, and our great-great-grandmother, married first our great-great-grandfather William Seely and had three children with him, including my great-grandfather Isaac Joseph Seely.
Later, under conditions I don’t know enough about, Lucy became Brigham Young’s first wife in plural marriage (third overall). Here are more photos of Grandma Lucy, taken during the twenty years that she was mistress of the Beehive House in what they then called Great Salt Lake City. |
Little’s Biography of Lorenzo Dow Young says (p. 56) that William Seely was wounded in the battle of Crooked River. |
