Floyd Jorgenson, 1915-2008
Floyd
Valerie and her siblings honored their father and their mother, in accordance with the commandment. In their decline, Floyd and Doris benefited particularly from the faithfulness and prosperity of Ron and Crystal, and their bones lie in Los Altos, where Ron had served as mayor.

Floyd was known to complain that it was too humid in the Bay Area, and he wanted to be buried back in San Bernardino County. I’m told that it did occur to him, toward the end, that he probably wouldn’t be particularly aware of climatic conditions, when the time would come.

It’s a good thing that Valerie and I were blessed to serve our “couples’ mission” in our twenties, because by the time we might have enjoyed that experience in our retirement, she always felt obligated to take her turn caring for her parents. So, we always declined those opportunities, with regret. By the time Floyd and Doris were both gone, so were my health and vigor, and I was fully engaged in Temple and family history commitments.
