1981—Autumn in New England |
New England fall foliage photography, at least at my skill level, yields mostly frustration: you really have to be there. When Utah people emote over their pretty leaves, we try to choke back our hilarity until they’re out of earshot. No point in giving avoidable offense.
We loved to go apple-picking. ’Specially for the Macoun (pronounced “Magowan”) variety: New England’s premier eating apple. Doesn’t cook, travel, or keep worth a darn, but crunches, just off the branch, like gangbusters. |
