Appendix-Appendix: Paris
La Place de la Concorde
The French are really good at illuminations. Behind the fountain, at left in the top photo, the very expensive Hôtel de Crillon. At lower right on its façade, a sign identifies the location of the guillotine on which Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette died at the hands of the Progressives.

Next, looking up the Avenue de la Madeleine, we have a front view of l’Église de la Madeleine, with the light showing between its Greek columns.
