Clark’s systems analysis group at Raytheon had spun off as Abt Associates in 1965, renting offices on Concord Lane, near Fresh Pond in Cambridge. By 1968, they had moved westward across Alewife Brook Parkway into space formerly occupied by the Fresh Pond Drive-in Theatre, whose screen still stood perhaps twenty yards in back of the photographer. I think they built this corporate headquarters building at 55 Wheeler Street.

On the day they demolished the movie screen, we enjoyed a brief but intense diversion in the parking lot. Explosive charges at the base of each support, and then a satisfying THUMP as it toppled. The biggest bang of my young life to date.
