When they got to 3, rue de Lota, they had to move fast to get this joint portrait with the Harts, their presidential predecessors. The way it works, the new President is in charge as soon as he arrives, and the old one is expected to waste no time in moving on.
They enjoyed a wonderful and demanding year in France, from mid-1967 until June 16, 1968. Mammy documented it in her Missionary Diary, which I’ve embedded in the next page. Brent and I also wrote up this period as the “Leola, Missionary” section of our centenary Gedenkschrift; rather than repeat that material here, I’ll refer you to that account. |
